Kentucky State Police served a search warrant in Bourbon County Thursday afternoon. They're looking into allegations of misconduct.
27 NEWSFIRST has learned the allegations center around the Bourbon County Circuit Clerk's office. Circuit Clerk Sherry Rankin and Deputy Chief Assistant Whitney Jones are both suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
We've learned state police retrieved computers from the officer and escorted Rankin out of the building. Lt. Phil Crumpton tells 27 NEWSFIRST they received a complaint about the misconduct from within the office. Rankin and Jones are accused of tampering with public documents.
State police say no charges have been filed at this time, but the two may or may not face charges in the future pending on the outcome of their investigation.
